Heisman winner talks Tiger, sort of

I shared a golf cart with 1983 Heisman Trophy recipient Mike Rozier during a Tulsa Sports Charities celebrity golf tournament Monday and pitched him a few questions.

I asked Rozier what I thought would be a fun question: Have you ever used "I'm a Heisman winner" as a line to pick up girls?

Rozier's answer veered into Tiger Woods territory.

"No, no, no. I’m not one of those guys out there picking women up," he said, indicating that you never know what you are picking up in those situations.

"Look at what happened to Tiger (Woods), and I’m not trying to dog Tiger. I don’t know if some guys will agree with it or not, but, to me, if you are athlete, I don’t think you should marry at that particular time because you have got a lot of temptations in front of you.

"Some guys will say no and keep on saying no, but sooner or later they are going to say yes. That’s one of the reasons I never got married when I played ball. I’m not saying all athletes cheat. Don’t put it out there that Mike Rozier said you shouldn’t be married because you will cheat. No. That’s just my philosophy."
