I have now been asked how Oklahoma's football recruiting class shapes up for the 1 bazillionth time. Which means I have said, "Well... I dunno... All right, I guess... Beats me" to a bazillion people.
Basically, I have as much interest in recruiting as I do scraping that dirt/leaves/twigs gunk from the corners of my guttering. It is the ultimate necessary evil -- well, that and spring practice -- which is why I owe my partner, John Excellence Hoover, more than I can ever repay for taking care of it for the both of us.
I'd suggest you call Hoov if you ever want recruiting dish. (Just don't tell him I told you to call). And if you can't reach him... Well, here, let me steal from others who have that special something (I'd call it lunacy) it takes to cover this stuff:
The San Antonio Express-News -- "In a potential reprise of 2004, when they pilfered Adrian Peterson from tiny Palestine, the Oklahoma Sooners have ventured back into Texas to secure commitments from what appears to be the cream of the state’s crop."
The Sporting News -- "Oklahoma is positioning itself for a huge recruiting year. Bob Stoops could have as many five-star commitments as he had back in 2004 when Adrian Peterson committed. Think OU is good now? Watch out."
Rivals.com -- "Sooners coach Bob Stoops had his assistants double their efforts in Texas, and the results have been amazing."
