Hey Bob, We Have a Question

Response from the homers to OU's most recent crisis has been pretty predictable.
Way to go Bob. That's showing 'em who's boss, Bob. We'll be better than ever, huh, Bob. We got plenty of walk-ons to take their places, right Bob? Those guys you kicked off would be starting at a SEC school, Bob. Keep it going, Bob. Run 'em all off, Bob. Tight ship, Bob. We're number one, Bob. You're the man, Bob. Keep the program clean, Bob.
Our question:
Who recruited all those losers?

What would you do in Bob's situation Picker? Just curious....resign? Quit and become a local hack shock jock writer like Skip Bayless?
But What Do I Know?

Bob.

Hey Pick, I thought I saw that in post somewhere else today. LOL

Good grief! Really?
Of course, if Stoops was like you and could see into the future and "know" the character of every recruit and every decision they will make, good or bad, that would make his job of recruiting much easier. Last I checked, no one on this earth has that ability. Not even you (although you like to think of yourself as having that great insight)
Another attempt to stir the pot.

Cool, you should show up to the next presser and ask him your question and see what happens.

Forward thinking Picker.
A very good question for the program.
You can ask that question after the posters above spread the rose petals over Bob's path.

Presser? You mean those family get-togethers?
Dean and Al probably know who recruited those trouble makers. The coaches who are no longer there!

Wow, really? I mean, seriously? Like anyone can guess right off how anyone is going to behave. Look at Broyles, he was taught his lesson, learned from it and never had a problem afterwards. These guys were given chances, and 2nd chances, now they have to face the consequences.

Every coach ends up with a kid or two that makes him wonder what the heck was I thinking when I signed this one.
I think everyone knows if Stoops had been coach at Ohio State, for instance, there would have been no need or suspensions of a few games the next year. Those guys would have been history. Stoops tight ship tells me he tries his best to recruit good kids. Good kids do bad things or stupid things at times. Blame Bob all you want, he can't hold every hand all the time. The have to learn to make wiser decisions for themselves. Every coach ends up with kids that cause trouble. Most sweep it under the rug and we never hear of it. We hear of it here because Stoops (and Gundy) will punish them and it becomes news. I am sure Blankenship is exactly the same way. OU is not worse than the rest, probably is a lot better. Running a tighter ship just means more publicity when someone is disciplined.

OU fans are number one when it comes to relying on memories.
The Picker

Could it be a change of philosophy is accounting for the trouble?
More jucos?
More recruits from far points of the country?
Fewer Texans?
Blue Max
I don;t know if it's jucos, but I'm guessing jucos are going to be a larger part of the OU recruiting process to fill their player voids.
colhi64

None of the problem children here are jucos, all are from Texas, so all three of your points are shot down.

I have to disagree with those of you on here who say that there is no way of knowing whether or not a kid will turn out to be a rotten apple. You can tell a lot about a kid's self-discipline and work ethic by simply looking at the grades he made in high school.
colhi64

If we went by their grades in HS wouldn't have much of a team, I can bet!!!

241362: At least OU has some memories to to rely on.
