Hey Coach, Who's on Second?
Published: 3/7/2011 2:36 PM

"Hey Kobe, to what do you owe your 25-point halftime lead?"
"We were aggressive."
"Excuse me, LeBron, how come you're down 33 at the half?"
"We need to be more aggressive."
"Coach, what will it take for you to come back and win this game?"
"We need to score more points."
"Coach, how do you feel after this big win?"
"Fine."
What's worse than a halftime interview?
Nothing.
Sideline interviews aren't even interviews, they're reconfirmations of the obvious.
"Hey coach, how do you feel, being behind 30?"
"Not good."
All sideline reporters are good for are occasional injury reports.
Players are tired.
Coaches are in lousy moods.
Save the money on sideline reporters and give us more cheerleader pictures.

Let's not overlook "Failure to execute." Bob Simmons got a ton of mileage out of that one while at OSU.

Yep, the absolute worst is the babbling at halftime of football games and the imbecilic questions from reporters…. Reporter (often a women) “Coach well your down 24 and have 5 turnovers,” “how do you turn this around the second half?” Amazing so many coaches can keep a straight face when explaining the painfully obvious to the idiot reporter. If someone in the crowd doesn’t know what needs to be done to right the ship, then they need to watch more football, the other 99.9% understand perfectly what the problems are.

Haha, great work here, Pick.

I actually enjoy the halftime interviews as it provides hilarious entertainment.

I especially love the expressions on the coach's face when he is asked a particularly stupid question.

Usually it screams, "How on Earth did you get this job?"

Why have those stupid females at halftime? The TV networks need some chickies to hold the interest of the drooling youngster group.

By the way, whatever happened to the mature woman who was such a superb color and play-by-play sports announcer? I haven't seen or heard her in a long time.

Failed to execute, BNS, that's a good one.

Even the colorblind loudmouth in the neon suits, Sager, is out of questions.

The other day somebody asked a player, Were you aggressive enough?

And pretty much stumped him, all he could do was nod.

No fair, Picker. You read my mind...this time.

More cheerleader pics, yes. Can anyone recall that cheerleader for Notre Dame in the early 70's? A dead ringer for Ali McGraw. I believe she was from the girls school nearby as Notre Dame was all-male, all the time.
