Home may be ORU's Edge

This is the year Oklahoma State and Oklahoma finally figured they had an advantage in the Big 12 Tournament.
For years, the Cowboys and Sooners dreamed of having the tournament in Oklahoma.
Finally, it is a reality - just in time for OSU and OU to be at their lowest points in men's basketball in several decades.
It has been a long time since the Sooners and Cowboys looked to be such longshots in the Big 12.
In fact, you have to go back to the 1980s, or even 1970s, and the old Big Eight Tournament, to find a time when the two state schools both seemed destined for an early exit.
If all goes according to script, it would appear the two schools will be gone on Thursday, missing out on a chance to use an advantage as the home state schools.
Meanwhile, Oral Roberts also gets its conference tournament just down the street from the school.
The Golden Eagles will have an edge. ORU is good enough to win the tournament as the No. 1 seed.
In other words, the home court should actually be a factor for the Golden Eagles.
If so, Oral Roberts is the favorite to reach the NCAA Tournament for a second straight year.
Playing near your home is an advantage. However, if you aren't good enough to give yourself a chance, getting the tournament in a spot dominated by your fans doesn't help.
That's the case for OSU and OU. There will be plenty of Sooners and Cowboys in the stands on Friday, Saturday and Sunday next week at the Ford Center.
But they'll most likely be watching Jayhawks and Aggies.
