How Did OSU Drop to Heart of Dallas

No one has taken the blame for Oklahoma State’s fall to the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
Of course, if OSU had made one play against Texas or Oklahoma, or hadn’t played so poorly against Arizona and Baylor, there would be no debate.
The Cowboys, 7-5, tied for third in the league with Texas.
The Longhorns wound up in the Alamo Bowl. The Cowboys wound up in a bowl no one has heard of against a 6-6 team that fired its coach.
“It was a letdown initially when we received the information,” said Gundy.
Gundy said the Cowboys have gotten over the disappointment of being pushed into the Heart of Dallas Bowl and are now excited to play.
“I went 11 years without going to bowl when I first got into coaching,” said Gundy. “So, I appreciate the bowl game opportunity.”
How did OSU fall from the expected Alamo Bowl to the Heart of Dallas is a great question. It is a question that apparently no one at OSU wants to answer.
OSU fell from the Alamo Bowl when OU was left out of the BCS bowl equation and was picked up by the Cotton Bowl. That pushed Texas to the Alamo Bowl (Texas owned the head-to-head tiebreaker with OSU).
But, after OSU was pushed out of the Alamo the Cowboys should have been picking from the leftovers - Tempe, San Diego, New York City and Houston.
Instead, it was busted down to Dallas and the Cotton Bowl Stadium.
Not only did OSU finish above the other four teams we’re talking about in the Big 12, the Cowboys have a bigger fan base and have a proven record of taking huge crowds to bowl games.
That was the job of OSU athletic director Mike Holder to make sure the Big 12 and the bowls were aware of OSU if the Cowboys got knocked out of the Alamo.
Instead, it appears, there was no one making OSU’s case.
Apparently, the Big 12 Conference is responsible.
“That’s a question that should be directed to the conference,” said Gundy on Thursday.
Gundy said he had no input and wasn’t involved in the bowl decision before it was handed down.
The Heart of Dallas Bowl should have been slotted in for the eighth place team. If so, that should have been Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor or West Virginia. How the Big 12 was going to sort that out is up to the Big 12.
However, OSU should not have been in the equation.
Whatever the situation, Oklahoma State should demand an explanation from the Big 12. And, probably an apology.

It happened what? 3 weeks ago? Shouldn't this have come out much earlier?
At this point, there should be a detailed explanation available, not people just now asking the question.

"No one has taken the blame for Oklahoma State’s fall to the Heart of Dallas Bowl"???
Boy, after watching OSU play all season...that is a real puzzler!!!
It's kind of like the BCS and the Bowl selections don't make any sense! When did that foolishness start???

OSU fans celebrated OU's missing out on a BCS bowl. Besides the revenue sharing for the whole conference that would have been more for everyone; it pushed OSU to the Oblivion Bowl! Cutting off their nose to spite their face. Dumb.
