Hurricane Threat Level

Can Tulsa run the table this season?
It's a question Golden Hurricane players and coaches shouldn't be thinking about (just worry about the next game), but it's certainly a question that has been making the rounds at water coolers and in coffee shops.
TU is 3-0 and has nine regular season hurdles remaining. Let's rank the threat level of remaining opponents:
1, Arkansas. Yes, Arkansas is less than vintage. But TU hasn't won in Fayetteville since the Bicentennial and hasn't beaten a school from a BCS league since a victory over OSU in 1998.
2, UCF. Tulsa was good enough to win 10 games last season -- and still lost two games to Central Florida.
3, Marshall. When will Marshall, the school that produced Randy Moss and Chad Pennington, be Marshall again? Maybe this year. The Thundering Herd is 3-1 and TU has to make a late-season trip to the herd's pasture.
4, Rice. The Owls moved the ball everywhere except the end zone against Texas. Rice players would love to beat their former coach, Todd Graham.
5, Houston. Cougars will be mad after getting embarrassed in Tulsa last season.
6, Tulane. The Green Wave is the football equivalent of a "tough out" in baseball. Alabama gained only 178 yards in a win over Tulane.
7, SMU. TU has never won at SMU in the WAC/C-USA era. It's now or never. For some reason, the Golden Hurricane always has to fight for its life against the Mustangs, regardless of game location.
8, UTEP. Three teams beat TU last season. UTEP was one of them, squeezing out a 48-47 decision in El Paso. Why aren't the Miners ranked higher on this list? Because they haven't won a game since. They share the nation's longest losing streak (nine games) with Army.
9, Central Arkansas. The Bears are transitioning to the Division I-AA level, but they are already ranked in the I-AA top 25.

After the destruction of UNM I would be surprised if they didn't. As an OSU alum I would love to see a return to the 412 game. I actually think it would be a great decision to have OSU, TU, and Arkansas to all play each other on some years. That's partly because I live in Arkansas now but, also Fayetteville is about the same distance from Tulsa(OSU's largest fan base) as Stillwater is.

Hey Jimmie Jamz,
I have to say "yes" to TU running the table. They are looking tough this year. I know there's a lot of football to play, but they appear to have their stuff together. I think they'll stay focused and make this year something special. I just hope this city supports them like they should. What a great squad to have in our backyard.

Tulsa is by far the best team UCA has ever played, and the Bears will look at this matchup as the game of the decade. Don't underestimate a winner - the Bears are undefeated - I don't care if they do play small colleges and are trying to make their way in the FCS.
Pride! Tradition! Domination!
UCA! UCA UCA!
Come on Bears! Beat Tulsa!

Eric, I hate to tell you this, but you are waaaay off the mark. You might have pride and tradition, but the only thing your team is going to be dominating on Saturday is the water boy. You know why? Because TU is going to drive UCA into our fancy new turf. UCA may be the first team to be buried on a football field. Buried alive.

This is the year when it all comes together for TU. Talent? Check. Coaching? Check. Favorable Schedule? Check. Fan Support? Check. It's 14-0 all the way . . . now here's to BYU, Utah, and Boise State all losing!

Wow!! 14-0 is a long and winding road...
Tulsa showed a total team in it's blowout
win vs. NMex., but sometimes, in a season
that long, you not only fight the teams but
the elements....
Tulsa has skilled position people that are
knee deep, and the envy of many top
15 BCS teams....They can play, and have
as good a coaching staff as I have ever
seen at a non-BCS school.....
What was the song from 'my fair lady'?
With a little bit of luck.....We can do it!!
