Hurtt, Luper are Best in the State

Tulsa’s Justin Hurtt is the best college basketball player in Oklahoma.
Oral Robert’s Kevi Luper is the best women’s college basketball player in Oklahoma.
How often has that happened?
We’re guessing not very often.
You could make a case for Oklahoma’s Danielle Robinson as the top women’s player in the state. She’ll certainly get more attention on the All-American teams.
But, for pure ability and what they’ve done for their teams, we’ll take Hurtt and Luper.
Hurtt has virtually carried the Golden Hurricane to the brink of the NCAA Tournament.
Tulsa hasn’t been in the NCAAs since 2003. And, it wouldn’t be close again this year if not for Hurtt.
Hurtt has carried Tulsa to a series of close victories that has put TU as the second seed in the Conference USA Tournament. When he’s knocking down shots, as he has done all season, he’s virtually unstoppable.
So is Luper. She has done the same for ORU.
Both the TU men and the ORU women started the season poorly.
Hurtt and Luper rescued the seasons for those two teams.
This week, they might put the Golden Hurricane men and Golden Eagles women in the NCAAs.

Blue&Gold (last year)
Justin Hurrt, had he been allowed to touch the ball more his sophomore and junior seasons instead of everything HAVING to go through Ben Uzoh, may have ended a lot closer to Shea Seals in terms of scoring than people realize.

Kevi Luper is one of the best players in the nation, not just in Oklahoma. She made her mind up early to attend ORU because if the environment and Christian education. There were probably a lot of schools knocking on her door, but didn't bother because she was steadfast. National media won't pay attention to her because she doesn't play for a big name school, but that was Kevi's choice, not the schools courting her.

Go TU! Go ORU!
Carry My Pads (last year)
Justin Hurtt did not look like the best player on the court when TU and OSU matched up earlier this season.
huricandeoro (last year)
Carry, although Hurtt was a little off that day and only scored 14 he was easily the best player on the floor. That will be pretty evident when he is playing in the NBA and no one from OSU's team is. He scored 21 against OSU as a junior by the way and totally outplayed James Andersen.
Wanted (last year)
Hurtt virtually has carried this team on his back with a lot of help from Idlet, while playing in conference. OOC I would have said they would not be better than maybe 5th in the C-USA tourny. Really surprised me to see them at 2nd. That was actually a decent job done.
