Idiotic Ticket Prices
Published: 9/16/2011 1:57 PM

There was a note on the Doomsday blog about the uproar over why TU-OSU hasn't sold out yet. The electronic media outrage is such that the controversy deserves its own space.

Has anybody heard of a rotten global economy? A family of four would be out about $500 given the dumb ticket prices.

The game is too late. The tickets cost too much.

When is the last time a media person bought a ticket?

Pay your way or be quiet.

Monday, send Boren to Utah and LA, not the OU and OSU football teams.

Yes, the individual game ticket is too much. But TU gave potential buyers a great chance to buy a ticket along with a season ticket package or a 3 game mini-pack, both of which drop the avg. price/ticket to about $40, $50 less than the La_Lafayette ticket at Oil Baron Stadium. The mini pack was priced at $110 AND included the Houston game. Late start is national TV's fault, but quit griping about it. TU played BYU w/ an 8pm start a few years back and the place was packed. That game lasted until about 2am. Quit whining and either prove yourself a real fan of either school or just be a fake bandwagon follower and by your $10 t-shirt from Reasor's, WalGreens, or Wal Mart, because we know you won't lay out the $20 for an official shirt from the bookstore.

Why would an OSU fan want to buy a 3-game pack to TU? It makes no sense. So yeah, I'm stuck with $95 per ticket. Not happening. My family and I are going to stay home and do what the TV execs had hoped, add eyeballs to the broadcast.

I'd respond in kind about Chapmon stadium, but I'm not sure how they got their money. I guess the Case Center could be called the Real Estate Center.

That's what happens when a stadium is downsized. TU's stadium used to hold 41,000. Now it holds 30,000. This is the one game this year that will likely sell out. Supply and demand, baby!

It's revenge against OSU for charging $90/ ticket to TU fans last year in attempts to keep them out of Boone Pickens stadium. What comes around goes around.

Seems kind of like cutting of your nose to spite your face.

Why do TU fans blame OSU fans for a TU home game not being a full house? Shouldn't that be on TU fans?

If you believe this, you are truly a moron.

Nice try! There were still A LOT more OSU fans at Chapman stadium campared to TU fans at Pickens stadium last year. There were also more OSU fans than TU fans at the game this year. Pretty sad, huh!?!?

Blue and Gold,

Sounds familiar. If all you need is an officially licensed T-shirt...you can go to the local store and get it for half price of the bookstore.

If all you need is an accredited college degree, you can go to OU or OSU and get it for 1/3 of the cost of TU.

HAHA! I love it when TU grads work in the same company (making the same pay) as OU or OSU grads, but they always brag on how superior the education is at TU. Sounds like the only thing superior at TU is the cost.

(Footnote: TU's bookstore is operated by Follet, a Chicago-based company. Reasor's is based in Tahlequah.)

It may start out that way, but the TU grad ends up rubbing the company.

Also, the TU graduate

They don't make the same pay, they just tell you that.

Tulsa vs OSU $95 ticket

#1 OU vs #5 Florida State $75 ticket

NFL Chicago Bears vs New Orleans Saints $72 ticket

For our family the cost is a factor, but more than that it is the late start time. If I take my 12 and 7 year old sons to the game it will be pushing 1 am by the time I get them home.....

the tickets prices at osu Tu game last year was nothing more than a shake down and the same thing for the OU tickets. It would only be right if OU charges pokes about two hundred and fifty dollars for their tickets next year at norman. Talk about people crying!
