Immediate Super Bowl Reaction

Quick thoughts on the just completed Super Bowl:
--Being incredibly partial to Lynn Swann's catches in Super Bowl X, I'm still willing to rank David Tyree's over-the-head catch (after Eli Manning did a Houdini trick just to avoid a sack) to set up a game-winning touchdown as one of the best receptions in the history of the big game.
--I don't care if a postgame chat with Giants coach Tom Coughlin had already occurred and I don't care if the outcome was already decided, it was still disrespectful for Patriots coach Bill Belichick to leave the field with one second remaining.
--Plaxico Burress cried in a postgame interview. There's no crying in football, is there?
--Was that Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins sitting in front of Peyton Manning in a Super Bowl luxury suite?
--Remember when Super Bowls used to be a dud game? That's no longer the case, especially when the Tom Brady-era Patriots play in them. Brady has quarterbacked the Pats in four Super Bowls. All were decided by three points.

Bill Belichick should be fined big time. It took bad sportsmanship to a new level for coaches. Reminded me of when Moss walked off the field before the game was over a couple of years ago. However, I guess NFL commish Goodell might have more pressing issues than Belichick given that Arlen Specter is getting curious about how the NFL office has handled spygate. Trivial and elected officials have better things to do, but I'm all for seeing the NFL getting some heat on how they run things.

Anyway, glad the Giants won. I couldn't stomach Randy Moss becoming the new Mercury Morris for however many decades for the next undefeated "best team ever"...

I didn't see any problem with The Bill leaving the field early.....the stupid refs should have just called the game....it was over.

Just my opinion and lack of depth in football arenas but I thought it was Giants defense that won that game. Sure Eli made a couple of touchdowns but holding Brady to a limit gave Eli a little cushion to get in his few points to win it. Defense beat the Pack as well. ....

Was a good SB though.

I watched Super Bowl 42 from the 3rd quarter until the finish. And what a finish it was. I was rooting for the New Jersey Giants to win and they defeated a very cocky New England Patriots. By the way, the bookies favored the Patroits by 14 points when the line came out. Go Denver Broncos, their over-due.
