Is Everybody at OU Perfect in the Pre-Season?
Published: 6/30/2009 4:20 PM

Why can't some Sooner player be regarded as pretty good?

Why do they have to be among the best ever?

Particularly in the pre-season.

Blake Griffin looks like a pretty good NBA prospect.

Needs a 15-foot jump shot.

Needs to play better defense.

Pros his size won't let him dunk.

He could turn out as good as Howard of Orlando.

The OU female basketball player who was so dominant in college is averaging three or four in the pros.

Here's what's so boring about homers.

You hear a million words from them before; sometimes very few after.

You're losin' it, Picker. Do you have anything to say?....perhaps something actually pertinent? or interesting?......and preferably something that makes sense?

C'mon Picker, you know that success in the collegiate ranks doesn't always equate to success in the professional ranks. I hope Blake proves all of the doubters wrong.

"You hear a million words from them before; sometimes very few after."

Besides his sports acumen, the Picker can turn a phrase

we should all be so multi-talented

CP is/was out-of-shape, her beautiful college coach didn't get do her any favors by getting the best out of her or improve her, so now she's learning on her own. The "pros" in her league could care less if she gets better or not, to them she's just competition....

The walking/leaping "muscle" will be a physical beast, but there are many of those types in the NBA, he's gonna have to use his "brain" to get ahead or stay on par with his "pro" competition...

One has physical challenges & the other has mental challenges....In high school & college "talent" will get you by but in the professional world it's talent + hard work on the field & in the mind....With a lttle "luck" they can still rise above....

"LUCK" - When preparation meets opportunity....

Are you ever chased out of Walmart by mobs of angry OU fans wearing cheap mesh hats? I just wondered because you might be shattering their fragile little worlds
The Picker (4 years ago)
Sluricane, fortunately, I just keep hitting picks of all the OU games.

I ever miss one, the mesh hats will be turned around backwards and here they'll come.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
