Is Johnson OU's MVP? He's making quite a case

Who's Rob Carpentier? A high school coach and teacher from St. Paul, Minn. A guy who contributes blogs for collegehoopsnet.com.
And, just maybe, the smartest man in college basketball.
About two weeks ago, Oklahoma faced a Big 12 schedule frontloaded with guard-heavy teams like Texas, Nebraska, Baylor and Oklahoma State. This is what Carpentier wrote:
"Everyone and their mother knows about Oklahoma’s tight end of a forward, Blake Griffin. Very few people know about their point guard, Austin Johnson, but he really is the engine that will determine how far this team goes."
Check out Johnson's lines in those games against the Longhorns, Huskers, Bears and Cowboys:
15 points, 4 assists and 2 turnovers
15 points, 5 assists and 1 turnover
8 points, 7 assists and 1 turnover
22 points, 5 3-pointers, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 turnovers
OU squeezed in a game at Texas A&M somewhere in there as well. Johnson went off for 19 points and 7 assists in that one.
Seems crazy to ask, but why not: Has Johnson, not Blake Griffin, been the Sooners' MVP in their 6-0 conference start?
