Is OSU Choking?
Published: 9/3/2009 3:56 PM

Practice is under lockdown.
Players are forbidden to communicate.
That truck over there. Moving on a public street by the practice field. Is it a spy truck?
Anybody violating Operation Isolation could be fired on the spot.
A key player leaves school.
The quarterback is hurt.
He's not hurt.
The game is taken off the board in Vegas.
Anybody seen the coach?
The money man who built the new stadium said the time to win is now.
The Georgia game will be televised to 87 percent of the country, which is monstrous coverage.
Are the Cowboys about to faint?

Hey Picker, where are your picks hiding?  They're supposed to be on here somewhere, are they not?

Given what Jamal Mosley unfortunately got himself involved in, whatever the full truth is about what happened, it's a terrible thing for a team to have to deal with when they need to be most focused on being a team.  They're playing the Georgia Bulldogs.  To have any chance to do well in the game, the Pokes need to be as focused on being a team as they can be and their fans need to be focused on supporting them.  If Mosley was set up just to try to create this kind of thing, unfortunately he wasn't hip to what was going on.  If that's the case, he could have been more careful.  Some of that's on him.  It's not beyond believing that some people could try to set up an athlete right before some big important game.  On the other hand, if Mosley crossed some line, hopefully the legal process eventually sorts it out in some just way.  But, given that whatever unfortunately happened unfortunately happened at a really bad time, it's better the team and everyone associated with it not be talking to the press.  After they play Houston, then there's plenty of time to talk.  Not before.  Not right now.  Otherwise, you're either A.) playing into somebody's game to get your team to lose focus or B.)  letting somebody who seriously let everybody else down cause you to lose focus.  Neither one is the way to go.  So, the fact they're not talking to the press right now ?  If they're being disciplined about that right now, that's actually a good thing ... for all the folks trying to figure out how to bet, consider that as a factor ...  Go Pokes !

DontHaveToGuess, I thought they were playing Georgia, so why bring up Houston?

Pick, you remind me of a street bum doing some kind of hallucinogenic drug. Whatever you perceive to be reality you automatically try to convince others IS reality. You tug at people's clothes as they try to pass you by, screaming nonsensical prattle at anyone who looks your way.

The truth is you are making much more of this than there is. If anyone is guilty of paranoia, it's you.

Now get back in your makeshift box of a home. You are frightening the children.

Go Pokes!!!

Hallucinogenic drugs?  Other than the truck comment it's all facts.  Another case of "Mikey no likey".  Be careful Pick or Mikey will take his ball and go home.

Gene, that's way too funny.
Fortunately for one and all in Stillwater tomorrow, Georgia pretty much stinks.
Anybody notice that powerful SEC offense at South Carolina last night?

Geez, just let'em play. Don't care what Vegas thinks, what the Picker thinks or what any other 'expert' thinks. It all comes down to Saturday on the field. My expert pick: 34-17

I guess the answer is an affirmed no.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
