KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- I know that because it's 8 in the morning and I'm sitting on the arena floor at the Sprint Center, waiting for Kansas coach Bill Self to launch Big 12 Media Day.
Oklahoma's Jeff Capel is due up at 8:30, with guards Willie Warren and Tony Crocker also scheduled to address us sportswriters. I'll be interested to hear from Warren in particular, who is getting as much preseason love as Blake Griffin was this time last year.
Here's a sample from ESPN.com college hoops guru Andy Katz: "He's an exceptional creator with the basketball, a strong guard, who can make plays on every possession. Jeff Capel has done a fantastic job of managing elite-level talent in his brief career in Norman. Warren sensed that staying put instead of chasing the money was the right thing to do. Now the focus is on him, and he'll have plenty of momentum toward the NBA after this season."
