Jason Carter's four-year Oklahoma football career was marked by blocked punts, emergency secondary duty and some of the best interviews any Sooner under Bob Stoops has ever given. You probably rooted for him for his first two endeavors. I liked him for that last one.
Anyway, it was good reading last week that the former Jenks Trojan is still in the neighborhood. He has signed with the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. I may take in my first arena football game just to see if Jason still packs his old interview punch.
On the subject of "where are they now," one-year OU basketball player Bobby Maze appears headed for Maryland. He's averaging 20 points for Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, the place he landed after leaving Jeff Capel's Sooners following the 2006-07 season.
Maze, an Allen Iverson clone from his face to his hair, his build, his uniform number and, yes, his attitude, can help Gary Williams' program. That is, if he doesn't drive the already-volatile Terps coach completely bonkers first. Might be fun to watch, if you're into rubbernecking.
