Jones Gives Sooners New Hope

LUBBOCK, Texas – Oklahoma wasn’t perfect against Texas Tech.
The Sooners didn’t need to be perfect against the Red Raiders, who helped OU with three interceptions.
However, the way Landry Jones played gives new hope to Oklahoma’s season.
Jones was fantastic in the 40-21 victory over Texas Tech on Saturday.
Oklahoma may play better defenses down the road in the Big 12 Conference.
However, Jones needed a confidence builder and got on against Tech.
Jones threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns. More importantly, he was not sacked and did not throw an interception.
It was obvious OU’s confidence as a team ballooned as Jones played well.
Once Jones staked OU to the big lead, the Sooners defenders clamped down and made the victory look easy in the seconed half.
There’s little question this was important victory. OU had to turn the season back to the positive after the loss to Kansas State and just ahead of the trip to Dallas.
Now, it is not out of the question that Oklahoma can start to build something back with this team.
Jones will have to continue to play well but if he does Oklahoma has a chance for a good season.
