Oklahoma State running back Joseph Randle gained 1,514 yards from scrimmage last season. For an encore, he’ll cover 1,535 miles. That’s the distance between Stillwater and Bristol, Conn., site of ESPN’s headquarters.
Randle is scheduled to visit ESPN on July 27 for a series of interviews on the network’s many platforms (TV, radio, web) and programs. In ESPN vernacular, it’s called running an interview subject “through the car wash.”
Mike Gundy has been through the car wash twice. Brandon Weeden got the car wash treatment, too.
Randle should do fine when questions are aimed in his direction. He’s among the most well-spoken players on the Cowboy squad. He was chosen not only for car wash duty, but he was invited to join Gundy, offensive lineman Lane Taylor and defensive end Cooper Bassett as OSU’s representatives at the Big 12’s football media days in Dallas next week. (OSU's day on stage is Tuesday).
An OSU spokesperson indicated that Randle is among four Big 12 players who has been invited to the car wash.
