Jury Still out on JamesOn Decision

We won't know for several months if JamesOn Curry made the right decision to leave Oklahoma State early for the NBA.
However, his selection in the second round of the NBA draft seemed to validate his decision to leave early from OSU.
Many felt his decision to stay in the NBA draft, and give up his final season at OSU, was a bad idea.
However, just as he believed, the Chicago Bulls took him in the second round.
As such, if he makes the team, he will probably make over $500,000 the first season.
How many college graduates in the state of Oklahoma will make over $500,000 in their first year out of college?
Another year at OSU might have helped him, might have pushed him into the first round.
But we'll never know. So, getting his chances as a second round draft pick may be as good as it gets.
Pro athletes have to make tough decisions about when is it time to turn pro. When are they ready? Different athletes are ready at different times.
Curry's decision might turn out poorly. Who knows?
But in today's pro sports climate, it is best to strike when you are hot.
From that viewpoint, Curry did the right thing. He felt confident that he would be drafted and he was.
OSU fans should thank him for several nice seasons in Stillwater and wish him well.

Wish JamesOn good luck. Its hard to get motivated when a couple of other players are loafing during the last half of the season. If certain players had given their best, OSU could have been in the Big Dance.
