Keep the LPGA in Spring

I know. I know. It rained and rained on the LPGA's SemGroup Championship this week at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Broken Arrow.
I don't care. Keep it in the spring.
Sure, you always have a chance of rain in the spring. You also have a chance of absolutely perfect weather.
You take your chances almost any time of year in Tulsa.
Certainly, the chances of the temps topping 100 every day during the PGA Championship at Southern Hills in August are pretty good.
But weather should not be a factor in selecting a date for an LPGA Tour stop in Tulsa (although I would highly suggest avoiding December and January).
This spring date has been great. It generated more interest because of the time of year. There was no football to push the LPGA from the top of the sports schedule in this region.
Yes, it rained a lot. Maybe it will rain a lot next spring (my garden certainly hopes so).
But keep the tournament in the spring.
The chances of 70 degrees and bright blue skies are possible, too. And, we know there won't be a college football game next May.
