Keeping LPGA Will be Huge Challenge

The SemGroup Championship, Tulsa's stop on the regular season LPGA Tour, is in serious danger of going away.
SemGroup's financial woes mean the event is likely looking for a new title sponsor.
And, in this tough economy, that won't be easy.
The LPGA would love to do everything possible to save the event. It is not only one of the most popular on the tour with fans but the players love it, too.
However, it costs money, a lot of it, to put on a professional golf tournament.
Some estimate it at over $3 million for the local LPGA tourney.
So, that is no small amount of money in what is a tight economy.
Here's hoping there's another angel out there to save the LPGA's annual trip to Tulsa.
But I'm not real optimistic.

John, go up stairs and tell Bobby he needs to have a golf tournament. And . . . tell him he needs to move it back to Tulsa Country Club where it belongs.

Hello . . . John. Is anyone there?
