IRVING, Texas — You thought the Oklahoma and Texas rivalry was good before? You thought Heisman winner Sam Bradford versus Heisman runner-up Colt McCoy in the Cotton Bowl was going to be exciting?
It just got better.
ESPN last week snagged both Bradford and McCoy for some head-to-head competition time in Dallas. The result will be shown during ESPN's Oct. 17 "College GameDay" preview show leading up to the OU-Texas game.
The quarterbacks met ESPN reporter Wendi Nix at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday for informal games of H-O-R-S-E, table tennis, closest-to-the-pin and Wiffle Ball. They've struck up a friendship since Bradford became OU's starter in 2007 (McCoy won the UT job in '06), and during a tour of midtown Manhattan on the eve of the Heisman ceremony last December, Bradford and McCoy looked relaxed and even playful as they shared time together.
Texas posted a photo slideshow on its football Web site depicting images of Bradford and McCoy's most recent showdown. To see the slideshow, follow this link: http://www.texassports.com/view.gal?id=50762.
