Landry's Good News for OU
Published: 1/6/2012 8:27 AM

Landry Jones coming back for his senior season is good news for Oklahoma.
Forget the critics that think OU would be better off with a rookie quarterback.
Not true. It is better to have Jones, who has started 37 games for Oklahoma.
The Sooners, or any team, is far better with a player that has three years of starting experience in the same offense. And, a player considered a first round pick in the NFL draft.
There will be no transition. No quarterback derby.
The Sooners can move forward knowing who their quarterback is and what he can and cannot do.
That doesn’t guarantee success. OU has gone through periods of success mixed with failures during Jones’ tenure at quarterback.
And, there is certainly no guarantee that he will be the top quarterback in the league.
Two newcomers, West Virginia’s Geno Smith and TCU’s Casey Pachall, will liekly keep the Big 12 a league loaded with quarterbacks and high-powered offenses.
Oklahoma’s biggest questions remain on defense, finding consistent receivers and a steady running game.
Jones’ decision gives the Sooners one less question to answer.

What bothers me about Landry is this, 4th and goal with eighteen seconds left and we need a td to tie Landry throws the ball into the seats instead of trying to force one into single coverage.......Why??? I was hoping he would move on and Bell would take over. Just my thoughts'''''
