Life Isn't Fair, But You Can Still Go To It
Published: 10/3/2007 5:04 PM

Hey, Joe Montana and I have something in common.
I did a luncheon interview with the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Wednesday and he was accompanied by a doctor, James Rippe.
I told Rippe I was still looking for a doctor who would tell me that a certain brand of soft drink (addicted to one particular type) was good for my health. He told me to keep looking.
Montana seconded my motion. He loves this particular drink also, but is trying to eat and drink healthy stuff nowadays because he is fighting high blood pressure.
Montana looked fit enough that he could go play tomorrow. Meanwhile, I drink the same kind of soft drink he likes and I look like an unmade bed.
Why can't stuff that we like be good for us?
The moral of this story: If you want fair, the only place you are going to find it is Expo Square.

P.S. Montana said too many Americans overeat and we want to super-size everything. His wife gave good advice: Let your (full) stomach tell your brain when it's time to stop eating.

Hey Jimmie, I have always enjoyed your reading your work. Back when I was a journalism student at Chouteau High School under Roxanne (Perkins) Duck, I always admired your columns and articles, and modeled my work after yours. Keep up the great work. It is nice to see that a guy from little old Mayes County can make it big.
