I think Oklahoma State will win a first-round Big 12 Tournament game against Texas Tech and here's why: The Red Raiders are super in Lubbock, but not-so-super elsewhere.
Tech is 13-3 at home and 3-11 everywhere else. The only road and neutral-site wins came at Colorado and against Alaska-Anchorage and Gonzaga in the Great Alaska Shootout.
Meanwhile, Tech lost nonconference road games at Sam Houston State and Centenary.
OSU isn't so great away from home either, losing 19 consecutive true road games before late-season victories at Texas A&M and Missouri. But I've got a vibe that the Cowboys will handle being away from home better than the Red Raiders, whose average margin of defeat in Big 12 games was 23.7 points, including losses of 26, 44 and 58 points.

Tulsa World sports writer Jimmie Tramel is a former class president at Locust Grove High School. He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a journalism degree and, while attending college, was sports editor of the Pryor Daily Times. He joined the Tulsa World on Oct. 17, 1989, the same day an earthquake struck the World Series. He is the OSU basketball beat writer and a columnist and feature writer during football season. In 2007, he wrote a book about Oklahoma State football with former Cowboy coach Pat Jones.
