Longhorn lesson learned the hard way

Four years ago, freshman Adrian Peterson secured his place in OU-Texas lore with 225 yards, while helping the Sooners win a 12-0 slugfest.
Now it can be said -- it IS said, in fact -- that the Longhorns made a terrible mistake to help young Mr. Peterson along his way.
Speaking of Peterson, now tearing up the NFL with Minnesota, Denver Broncos defensive lineman/Texas alum Tim Crowder told the Rocky Mountain News: "Don't think just because he's a (second-year pro) he can't do some things... he's a grown man. He was a grown man then. I was one of the guys who underestimated him his freshman year. He put 225 on us. I know what he's made of."
