Looking for a Bowl Foirmula
Published: 1/3/2008 3:54 PM

If it happens once it can be a coincidence. Maybe even twice.
Three times is a trend.
Four times and it is a full-fledged problem that needs a solution.
Oklahoma has lost four straight BCS bowl games, and four of its last five bowls overall, after Wednesday night's 48-28 blowout loss to West Virginia.
This latest loss, in a game the Sooners figured to be a big favorite, was shocking in the ease that West Virginia blew away OU.
But, for the second straight year in the Fiesta Bowl, in a game it was favored, the Sooners just didn't look interested.
It used to be OU coach Bob Stoops was automatic in big games. That's no longer the case.
But we can be sure of one thing. Stoops won't rest until he figures out how to cure OU's bowl ills.

Just curious, where is your lost blog entry about how the Sooners should have no problem blowing out WV? It mysteriously disappeared this morning. Weird.

Actually they have lost 4 of the last 5 bowls and had to vacate the Holiday Bowl win since they started an ineligible player at quarteback. Also in you column today you state that Big Game Bob won his first 4 bowl games. Am I dreaming or didn't Ole Miss kick a winning field goal at midnight of Y2K?

According to my research Bob bowl record is 3-5 with the vacated Holiday bowl taken off the books.
