INDIANAPOLIS — Lovie Smith loves Juaquin Iglesias.
The former Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver was a third-round pick by the Chicago Bears in last year's NFL Draft. Iglesias played in only one game all season — in Week 17, he made one special teams tackle — but the Bears head coach still appreciates what he has.
Asked Friday about his returning wide receivers in 2010, Smith offered up his thoughts on Iglesias.
"I saw a lot of good things in practice he did against our (first-string) defense last year," Smith said.
Iglesias came to OU as an unheralded two-star recruit from Killeen, Texas. He ended his career as one of the Sooners' all-time leaders in catches, yards, touchdowns, kickoff returns and all-purpose yardage.
Smith has noticed what Bob Stoops noticed: this guy can flat play. Expect more playing time for Iglesias in 2010.
