Lovie's Time Will Come

Lovie should be back to the bowl. But with Rex?

One would assume Lovie Smith's time will come.
Surely, as good as he is as a coach, Smith will eventually lift the Lombardi Trophy as the coach of an NFL championship team.
But as Dan Marino, one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history can attest, nothing is for sure.
Marino made the Super Bowl with the Dolphins when he was 23-years-old. Everyone figured it was just a matter of time before Miami got back to the Super Bowl and won it.
It never happened.
You must grab the ring when you have the chance. You never know what the future holds.
Still, Smith, the former University of Tulsa player and assistant coach, would appear to have a long and successful NFL coaching career ahead of him.
Chicago is one of the franchises that would appear to have a good chance to get back to the Super Bowl and win one sometime in the near future.
The Bears have a great and young defense to go with excellent special teams. It has good running backs and skill position players.
The one thing the Bears need is better quarterback play.
Rex Grossman won 15 games in his first full year as a starter. The Bears say all of the right things about him.
However, one has to wonder if he's the answer. His fourth quarter of two interceptions cost the Bears any chance of winning this Super Bowl.
If he improves, or the Bears go out and get a different quarterback, doesn't matter. What Chicago needs is better quarterback play.
Grossman might or might not be the answer.
Until that one question is answered, Smith will have to wait on winning the Super Bowl. But there's little question the Bears will be a good bet to have another shot at it next season.
