Mack Brown has at least one question to answer at media day

DALLAS -- I've been at Big 12 media days for all of one minute, and already it's the best ever. That's because instead of seeing Mack Brown upon walking through the front door of the Westin Galleria, I saw a Texas cheerleader. In uniform.

She was standing next to a Texas A&M yell leader, also in uniform. He said something to me ("Howdy," I presume), but I didn't notice for some reason.

Anyway, a few minutes later, the cheerleader greeted some other lucky sportswriter and I saw Brown for the first time. He was prepping for an SportsCenter interview. There's probably a Longhorn Network joke in there somewhere, but we'll play it seriously today.

For this is a serious situation for Brown, coming off a train wreck of a 2010 season.

I included Texas' rebound among my prominent issues for media day in a Sunday World piece. I'm not the only one interested in the Longhorns' response.

Dennis Dodd closed some remarks on CBSSports.com with: "If Texas doesn't rebound quickly and begin competing for the conference title again, will this be Mack's final year?"

Goodness. Wonder if someone asks Brown that question this afternoon?

If he answers, I'll let you know.

In the meantime, I think I dropped my tape recorder by the Westin front door. Back in a bit.

Forget Brown, can you just tell us more about the cheerleaders?
