Making an eggs-cape to Oklahoma
Published: 5/31/2007 10:19 AM

Eufaula native and former Oklahoma quarterback J.C. Watts, who runs a Washington D.C.-based company, hasn't forgotten his roots.
"Whenever I feel like I am getting out of kilter, I always go home to Eufaula to get my equilibrium back," Watts said.
Watts indicated that it's good therapy to go to JM's Cafe in Eufaula (where he bused tables as a kid) and order the He-Man Breakfast.
A truck stop in Chouteau used to have a He-Man Breakfast on the menu and one of my favorite cousins used to order it perhaps because it sounded more macho than french toast.
Watts said he likes to go to his ranch and hang out with his cows. That's a stress-free day for the former congressman.
Watts will return to Oklahoma on Monday to be the keynote speaker at the Henry P. Iba Citizen Athlete Awards. Perhaps it's not too late for the chef at the Renaissance to make the dinner entree a He-Man Breakfast.

J.C. shows that no matter how humble a man's roots are, you can go far in life. Men like J.C. should be the role models for our youth.
