Maybe this will be Mack's last word on last year

Some day, and maybe it will actually happen before the 2009 season starts, Texas coach Mack Brown will figure out he should probably just stop talking about 2008. We're not quite there yet, though, as evident by Brown's statement in Ivan Maisel's ESPN.com piece:

"We don't blame OU for us not getting to the conference championship. That was a Big 12 rule. It had nothing to do with the BCS. It had nothing to do with Oklahoma. It wasn't their fault. And they had a great team. We weren't even saying they didn't deserve it. We said we didn't like the way the rule worked. It didn't work out for us. We could have been as mad at Missouri as we were OU."

You know, that sounds a tad more diplomatic than Brown's first 462 statements on the topic. Still, I'd clam up altogether, at least until the Longhorns have disposed of Colorado Oct. 10.

Hey, it took OU coaches two years to stop talking about the Oregon game.

Get over it Mack. You are getting to sound like sour grapes.

TMS, one was following a rule. The Oregon game had rules violated. The officials even admitted that one.

Mack's a child in big boy clothes.

Geez!!
It will have to take Texas beating OU this year to shut up Mack and the Longhorns. But if things play out the way I think they will, OSU will upset TU this year and put things in crazy-hazy again.
