Medium Game Delight!
Published: 10/14/2009 4:36 PM

Talk about a pitch in Medium Game Bob's wheelhouse!

This Texas game is it for the Sooner coach.
For OU, this game has no bearing on a national championship. It might not even have top ten implications. The best that could happen is an OU win would vault the Sooners into another middling BCS bowl game. Even that's unlikely, as an OU win here would probably be followed by a loss at Tech or Nebraska, giving Texas the tiebreaker edge this time, with a higher ranking.

Simply put, this is a big game for Texas, a medium game for OU.

As an underdog in a game that means more to the opponent, the pressure shifts to the foe, the OU coaches get that decade-ago look.

Miami, now THAT was a big game.

BYU's last drive in Norman, now THAT was a big moment.

The medium game could be teed up in a rough season.

BYU's last drive in Norman?  What are you talking about?

If OU and Texas were to finish the season with one conference loss a piece and OU beat Texas, then OU would win the tiebreaker due to head to head result. The rankings only come in to play if 3 or more teams are tied.

Mr. Piocker, where do I get the English translation?

Picker,
Main reason Tulsa is a JOKE!

You are blogging about OU when quit possibly the biggest home game in TU history is taking place.

Hope you get that long sought promotion in Amarillo.

You 3rd tier media market HACK!

Congrats Tulsa!  Great game tonight.  Nearly sold out and around 10K at the BOK Center.

Nice to see the citizens of Tulsa support the Thunder even though the picker and Tulsa World don't!

This game means more for Texas than it does for OU. The best OU can do is win the conference title. Texas has a shot to play in the national title game if they beat OU. If OU beats Texas and loses one conference game to a team like Nebraska or Texas Tech, OU would go to the Big 12 title game. Texas wins the tiebreaker if Texas beats OSU and OU's only conference loss is to OSU. I don't see OSU beating OU in Norman, though.

Of course, that's assuming OSU wins all its Big 12 conference games, with the exception of the Texas game. That's also assuming that Texas only loses to Oklahoma in conference play.

"20" picker on Boise over TU??!!!  Why don't you go re-read the post and eat those words.  How would you like you crow?  I suggest medium well

If the outcome of the Picker's OU/Texas prediction is anything like his pick of Boise beating Tulsa by 14, he'll be talking hoops on Monday.

The one thing that never changes is that "you win and we lose" right, Pick?

I love how you say OU might go to another ho-hum BCS bowl game...Those are hard to come by last time I checked. If they do make it to a BCS game, which would mean a 4th straight Big 12 title, I'd say a pretty good season. But of course, Stoops has never won a big game...

How did you Thunder fans enjoy Wade's performance?

Nice, huh.

Can't wait until the next big practice game. Maybe the NBA stars will do card tricks at the half while the flunkies gun it.

You hacks crowing about TU coming close, you were hiding under the bed before the game started. Flip back, it was reported here that the number favored TU. The game could have gone either way, 14, 7, flip a coin. TU played as well as it could. The atmosphere was the best ever, a really hectic, colorful, college game. Boise is well coached, good, not close to great, as its recent close call with Harley Davidson, Cal Davis, somebody like that, indicates.

Dave for all your whining about Stoops at least he does have class, unlike your Nebraska boys i.e Callahan and even to a degree Pelini. The fans there are great as is Osborne but give us a break with your biased opinion.YOU are in OKLAHOMA that is why everyone around here likes them just like eveyone in Nebraska likes their team.
MexiMike (3 years ago)
Spin it any which way you want, Pick. In the end, you were still on the wrong side of the TU game.

Sorry. Better luck next time.

You should be in the circus with the amount of skill you have in backpedaling.

Well Dave that your nat'l champs lost big at home I wonder how much you downplay that loss and talk about how bad OU and Bob Stoops are.
