Michigan trying to burn the Schooner down

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A little pregame lesson on Michigan, Oklahoma's opponent in today's NCAA second round, courtesy of Stan McNeal of The Spoting News:
"Michigan has become the latest to slap a hokey slogan on the back of T-shirts the team wears in warmups. Their motivational motto: 'queme los barcos.' Translated: Burn the ships.
"The words refer to what 16th century explorer Hernando Cortes allegedly told his Spanish troops when they landed in Mexico to take on and ultimately bring down the Aztec empire. Cortes ordered his men to destroy their vessels so there would be no turning back. Victory or else."
