Might TU Light Up OU's Suspect Defense?

Don't laugh.

With injuries and bigger games just ahead, the answer is yeah, TU could ring up 30.

In more stuff of interest, Texas A&M is even goofier than we thought possible, threatening to bail out to the SEC where it would never be heard from again. You want to mess with Bama and LSU and those people instead of KU and Iowa State? The Aggies have had their bells rung many times too often.

It's time for the Shock to apologize to the city for being so bad, and it's time for Nolan haters to apologize for being so wrong.

Your such a hater! OU can't win with you! If and when they hang a half a hundred on TU you will just say oh well they should have won 50-0! You must be either an TU alum or an OSPUU alum!

chiefb1 - Uhhhhhh... Please tell me there's some kind of tricky sarcasm to your post that totally went over my head, being as how "half a hundred" IS 50 points...

chiefb1.. you should know were he went before you comment. they maybe able to hang "half a hundred" but he is just telling like it is... Tulsa a 0? I bet not.

Can't apologize for being right,picker.

TU should be able to move the ball just fine. Kinne won't wow anyone, but I doubt he will make many mistakes. The whole game turns on Landry's play. If he doesn't throw picks, OU should win easily (meaning around 49-24). But if he is careless, TU could win his game.

""this" game...

"They want you to cook the dinner, at least they ought to let you shop for some of the groceries." - Bill Parcells. Picker forgets that these are Nolan's groceries.

Nolan = Bush, Edwards = Obama. You're a TW writer, I'm sure you'll appreciate that.

The question is,
IF A&M & Fl St R gone
whose the other 2 schools that will be taken
2 help balance out the conference @ 16 teams?

What’s 2 stop the SEC from taking more?
Forming their own Super Conference
Their own Super Football Network
24 of the Biggest fan supported teams in one conference, one network, one HUGE Financial gravy train

Bolt from the NCAA & follow
along w/ the ideas that the SEC commissioner
espoused a few months ago about more lenient
rules & practices regarding recruiting, payment of players, admissions, etc.

Do u really ‘thunk the University of Texas
really wants 2 go indy?
The already get the advtg. of being “indy”
while playing w/n a conference.

When said & done,
it wouldn’t surprise me that the Big 12(9)
goes for Houston, TCU, & BYU to get to 12 teams

Mr. Picker, not to change the subject, but . . . with Tiger not making the cut and thereby not winning a Major this year, I owe you something. Wonder what you'll settle for? A contribution to teh Oklahoma Golf Foundation should do the trick.........

Why does Jay Cronley only write about the weather?

Clemson and possibly Missouri will round out the 16 in the SEC.
The Picker (last year)
Gene-o, that will do it. Thanks for being honorable.

We'll renew the challenge next Masters time!

Big E, how's your Shock team doing? Nice sports opinions you have there. Right on the money.

Pick! do you understand anything anyone on these comments said? Wow. The folks that show up on this paper's website worry me. Are they near me? Are they all around me?

Oh and by the way, TU has a fine little football team with one of the best players in the entire country. They can score on anybody. They won't quite get it done in Norman, but they have a fine chance again Aggie state in TU's little stadium that may have just as big a crowd as they would have had in osu's cozy little stadium. Prediction on OSU vs. TU... TULSA 47 - osu 41.
The Picker (last year)
Soonertrain, we don't understand some of them even with a translator. And that's a pretty good looking score you've come up with, as it will be a classic look-ahead game for OU.

E, you have a question for somebody, bring your real name and ask him or her. You brave enough?
Soonertrain (last year)
No, but I get it. I personally wish TU wouldn't sign up to play OU because I like both schools. OSU... YES. I remember classic osu Failure games against the Golden storm back in the nineties. Once it was TU 35 - OSU 0 .......at the half!!! Guess that was a long time ago though.
okcthunderrolls (last year)
I don't see OU losing to TU but OSU and Boise could both get beat. I think TU's defense is going to be better. TU will beat either OSU or Boise and they could beat both. OU should roll on to a National title but TU is probably the second most likely game to lose this year (second to OSU).
The Picker (last year)
We just made a gentle-person's wager: TU would score 28 on OU. Not over 28, 28 points is a winner for our side.
whereintheworld (last year)
The thing that can wear on OU players is they EXPECT to win by a score around 56-7 or so. If TU can stay in it, it will irk the sooners and that wears on the nerves and players start making mental slip-ups.

OU has a history of these kinds of games in Norman in game 1:
2005 - lost to TCU
2006 - Edged by UAB 24-17 (UAB was one of the worst teams in country that year)
2009 - Lost to BYU
2010 - Edged by USU 31-24 (USU was one of the worst teams in FBS in 2010)

OU also barely escaped 5-7 Cincinnati 31-29 and then barely escaped a pretty good AF team 27-24.

I am confident OU will win, but believe TU can and should make it interesting.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
