Mizzou Finally Finds New Home

Missouri has made it official. It is leaving the Big 12.
“Best of luck and we’ve got two good teams and maybe more coming in,” said OU coach Bob Stoops. “We’ll keep playing ball here, too.”
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy, who has been around the Big Eight/Big 12 for 25 years, said it is disappointing to see anyone leave the league.
“I hate to see anybody leave our league,” said Gundy. “We have to be excited about TCU and West Virginia and the future of our league.”
Many believe it was the Longhorn Network and how Texas treats other members in the conference.
That won’t matter on Saturday when the Tigers and Longhorns play.
“Missouri has a right to do what is best for it,” said Texas coach Mack Brown. “Just like Texas has a right to do what’s best for it.”
Brown said he has not been concerned with the conference realignment because “I’ve been worried about Texas football.”
It means the Missouri-Kansas rivalry is apparently over.
“I don’t see us playing them in the future,” said Kansas coach Turner Gill. “The rivalry in the future belongs in the Big 12 Conference.”

When was the last time Mizzou won a conference football championship in the Big 8/12? 1969, 43 years ago. What are they going to do in the SEC? Good luck is right. Move over, Vanderbilt. You have company.
