More of the Same Thunder

Since day one of the Thunder regime, around nutty assertions from OKC media homers that the OKC team is better than sliced pizza, we have told you the following:

Perkins is a load. This guy can't score much -- he's averaging 4 and change -- and barely resembles what he was in Boston.

Westbrook is a wild man. Late in many key games, he is a turnover machine and a brick mason, playing out of control and forcing shots. Westbrook plays mad. He's mad when he makes a great shot. He's mad when he misses. Isn't the game supposed to be fun at times? True, the national media has been rough on him. So show them by playing smart, not mad.

Westbrook is shooting 40 percent from the field this season. That isn't bad. That's horrible. That's YMCA lunch league bad.

In related news, the Thunder GM is vastly overrated. Drafting the KU center is thought to be one of the top 20 worst picks of all time. And letting Harden go was as bad as drafting him was good.

The Thunder is good. Not great. It will be all out to win the West. The Lakers are tons better with the little old guy back in the line up at guard. Memphis is mean as snakes. San Antonio has skills. Harden looks like an all star at Houston.

Westbrook needs to stop shooting 40 percent and start playing under control.

Durant is spectacular.

There's nothing wrong with being very good, not great. Except when the cheerleaders preach otherwise.

Thunder posts are great for diverting attention from one's bowl picks. Local impact is debatable however.

Merry Christmas.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
