Tired of beating a dead horse in regard to Oklahoma and Oregon? Let's move on with some thoughts on other subjects.

The K Club will be the site of the Ryder Cup. The K Club? Who named the place? Lee Iacocca? The K Club sounds like a good name for a members-only version of K Mart.

USC is complaining that Brent Musburger violated a trust by discussing on-air what he was told in a pre-broadcast meeting with the Trojans (something about a hand-signal for man-to-man coverage). At least Musburger didn't talk about the hand signal Reggie Bush used to use. Bush apparently held out an empty palm for anyone who wanted to put cash or checks in his hand.

Guaranteed victories should have stopped with Joe Namath. Detroit Lions receiver Roy Williams guaranteed a win over the Chicago Bears last week. Final score: Bears 34, Lions 7.

Tulsa World sports writer Jimmie Tramel is a former class president at Locust Grove High School. He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a journalism degree and, while attending college, was sports editor of the Pryor Daily Times. He joined the Tulsa World on Oct. 17, 1989, the same day an earthquake struck the World Series. He is the OSU basketball beat writer and a columnist and feature writer during football season. In 2007, he wrote a book about Oklahoma State football with former Cowboy coach Pat Jones.
