Muskogee's Bumpus a class act

Just got off the phone with Muskogee defensive end Jontae Bumpus, who signed with Oklahoma today.
He's a quiet guy. He said his signing ceremony at Muskogee High School was private deal "for family and friends."
Bumpus is exactly what recruiting should be: he grew up rooting for OU, he saw that the Sooners had an opportunity for immediate playing time at defensive end, he verbally committed early (last April) and didn't string along any other schools. Then he signed this morning. No dramatics, no waffling, no hats in black felt bags, no keeping working people up past their bedtime to declare on TV.
Some kids just love attention. Some kids just love to play football.
