My Knee and The Masters

If you love the Masters and you want to see every last shot, and you need knee replacement surgery, let me make a suggestion.
Schedule the surgery the Wednesday of Masters week.
I did. Go ahead. Ask me about any shot during the tournament. I saw it. Actually, I saw it several times and from every conceivable angle.
Now I know why so many sports fans know so much about, well, sports.
They watch it on television. Endless hours of of it.
My marathon TV watching started last Wednesday morning during pre-op at the hospital. That’s when I found out Texas A&M had won the national title in women’s basketball. And, the reasons for it and how it happened and what every possible person thought about it.
Then, it was into surgery.
The only down side to the surgery is that Wednesday is not a good television watching day. Apparently, my sister visited me for an hour in recovery. I say apparently because I have zero memory of what I am sure was a very pleasant visit.
But, starting on Thursday, you can watch a lot of golf if you are confined to a bed or chair.
Over the four days of the tournament, I didn’t miss a shot. I heard all of the analysis.
It is amazing how much sports are on television.
By Monday I was watching the WNBA draft. I now know a little too much about Aussie women’s basketball.
