I'm especially proud of our video Q&As put together by high school writers Barry Lewis and Mike Brown.

You get a chance to hear -- in their own words -- how some of Tulsa's best high school football players made their college decisions.

I got a chance to meet most of the players who came into our office the last two days. That's probably my favorite part about doing photo shoots -- meeting the best and brightest athletes in the Tulsa area.

I also met the father of Union's Kahlil Harper. I love seeing the smiles on the faces of proud parents this time of year. It's a great day for them as well.

A 1993 graduate of Texas A&M, he worked at papers in Bryan-College Station, Texas, Beaumont, Texas, and Galveston, Texas, before joining the Houston Chronicle as High School Sports Editor in 2008. While in Houston, he coordinated coverage of the 2008 Texas Class 5A state football championships and the 2011 NCAA Men's Final Four.
