National group announces Oklahoma coaches of the year

Eight from the Tulsa area, including two from Union, have been selected as Oklahoma 2012 coaches of the year by the National Federation of State High School Associations.
The area coaches honored are Union girls golf’s Lindsay Jones and boys swimming’s David Lynn, Broken Arrow wrestling’s Shawn Jones, Bishop Kelley volleyball’s Jerri Berna, Coweta girls cross country’s Toby Hummingbird, Verdigris girls soccer’s Stacy Risenhoover, Bixby girls swimming’s Monika Meadows and Bristow spirit’s Misti Roberts.
Others honored are Brandon Sharp (Wayne, football), Andy Bogert (OKC Heritage Hall, boys golf), Wayne Dozier (Midwest City Carl Albert, baseball), Todd Kerr (Forgan, boys basketball), Wendi Wells (Shawnee, girls basketball), David Riden (Edmond Deer Creek, boys cross country), Francois Boda (Mt. St. Mary, boys soccoer), Angela Wilson (Savanna, softball), Skip Griese (Ada, boys tennis), Phil Barnes (Duncan, girls tennis), Jon Hughes (Elgin, boys track and field) and Carl Hawkins (Edmond Santa Fe, girls track and field).
Berna, Barnes, Roberts, Boda and Riden also were named sectional coaches of the year.
