New Perspective on New England
Published: 12/7/2007 5:20 PM

Tell Don Shula to pop the cork on his champagne bottle. I think the unbeaten New England Patriots will lose once, maybe twice, during the remainder of the regular season.
We knew how good the Patriots were -- good enough to blow many NFL teams off the field.
What we didn't know was how tough the Patriots were. As it turns out, if you hit them in the mouth (like Philly and Baltimore did the past two weeks), the Patriots are mere mortals. And mortals have flaws that can be exposed.
My guess is the old Dolphins will get to keep their title as the NFL's only unbeaten Super Bowl champs.

You call the Pats(ies) mere mortals. They took a punch to mouth and still won those games. I hope they go undefeated so my 'Boys can taste that sweet revenge, Super Bowl Style.

Pats losing a regular season game? Can't see it. Unless the battery on their video camera goes dead anyway.
Seriously, they have only three game left and the Giants are the best team they face.
Now, I admit, these pros need something besides $$$$$$ to motivate them to go 16-0.
But, proving Shula wrong and erasing the * could be the 'something' to make it all happen.
But, and a huge "BUT", of what value is a 16-0 season without a Super Bowl Ring?????
I'll be in LV on Super Bowl Sunday. I will decide then.

I really think the Cowboys can beat the Pats. Romo & Co. will score (as long as TO is involved).
But, the Cowboys will have to work on their defense if Sunday's game against Detroit is any indication. Yikes!

Perhaps I should have written that the Patriots already have a loss. If they cheated the Jets so bad that the commissioner felt it necessary to take a draft pick away, then that sounds very much like a forfeit-worthy game.
