Nick Saban is Absolutely Right

Alabama coach Nick Saban is speaking for everyone that loves college football when he says sports agents should be severely punished for dealing with athletes while they are still eligible.
In fact, we are guessing a majority of the violations in college football these days is related to sports agents or their representatives dealing with college players.
So, make the penalties tough. Not kind of tough. Real tough.
Ban agents for a year or two or longer who violate the rules.
And, this isn't something college football can police by itself. It needs the NFL to ban these agents. There needs to be some penalty for this violation.
The only way to punish these agents is to hit them in the pocket book. So, the NFL needs to bang them.
If the NFL doesn't want to do that, then make pro days at all of these colleges off limits. Quit giving credentials to pro scouts. Make it tougher on the NFL.
Yes, penalize the kid and school. But, it is the agents who violate the rules that should be punished most severely.

I totally agree. Have the NFL hi them in the pocketbook hard!

It makes way too much sense to suggest that the NFL should be squeezed to do the right thing. That's like suggesting that we hit the employers of illegal aliens really hard. It isn't likely to happen.
