There were six so-called NFL experts on television the other night and all six predicted a different Super Bowl winner for this season.
That should tell you everything about the NFL.
Unlike college football, where there is a cartel of about two dozen powerhouses dominating things, the NFL is wide-open.
The draft, where the best college players go to the worst teams, keeps every teams relatively level.
So, it is not unusual to see longshots, such as New Orleans, win the Super Bowl.
It would be unusual if all of the sudden Iowa State won the national college football title.
The NFL believes competitive balance is one of the secrets of its success.
If so, this season should be fabulous.
By the way, I like Dallas to get back to the top this year.
