No Fluke. Tech Was Better Than OU

This was no fluke. Texas Tech deserved to win.
If anything, Oklahoma had to play like crazy just to make it close.
Oklahoma’s big dream of a national championship went up in smoke as Tech knocked off OU, 41-38, Saturday night in Norman.
It should have been moore.
Except for Oklahoma’s furious rally, Tech led comfortably for pretty much the entire game.
Oklahoma did cut it to 31-24 early in the fourth quarter. However, Tech answered with a field goal and TD to up the lead to 41-24 with about seven minutes to go.
In the end, after OU’s two TDs in the final six minutes, a missed 28-yard field goal with about three minutes to go might have been the difference.
In the end, unbelievably, Texas Tech was better. Better than the third-ranked Sooners, who believed they were not only the best team in the Big 12 but in the BCS, too.
Wrong.
On this night, the Sooners weren’t good enough to beat a 30-point underdog who had just lost their last two games to Kansas State and Texas A&M.
Just for your information, a trip to Kansas State is coming up.
The Sooners got battered every way possible. For starters, OU kept saying it had a great defense but teams like Missouri and Kansas, who were able to punch holes in OU defense, said otherwise.
Then, Texas Tech hammered OU with 572 yards, including 452 through the air.
The Sooners were inept on offense, too. Until a late rally, Oklahoma did nothing on offense. It was six straight three-and-outs surrounding halftime for OU.
Texas Tech led 24-7 at halftime. It could have and probably should have been more.
That big Bedlam Game in Stillwater? Just got a little less important.
Now, it’ll be tough stretch for OU as it tries to stay in the Big 12 race. Upcoming are challenging trips to Kansas State and Baylor. Texas A&M is at Norman, where Tech proved OU is not invincible.

I thought the run to Bedlam was supposed to be smooth sailing. Looks like it just turned into a mine field.
