No Hawks Gear for Stoops This Year

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops had his entire family outfitted in Iowa gear when they went to the Insight Bowl last year.
Iowa, Stoops’ alma mater, was playing Missouri and OU was in Phoenix for the Fiesta Bowl against Connecticut.
So, Stoops was able to play fan for a night.
Not this year.
Iowa is back in the Insight Bowl again this year but the Sooners are the opponents, not spectators, in Friday night’s game at Sun Devil Stadium.
“My wife actually went out that morning and got all the kids and got me a sweatshirt,” said Stoops.”So, there will be none of that this year.
“So, it is a little different. But you just have to go against them for four hours.”
Stoops said his wife starts every Saturday morning at the Stoops home by yelling “Go Hawks” to their children.
“There will be no yelling of that here Friday,” said Stoops.
Stoops admitted he has a lot of wonderful memories about his time at Iowa.
“I always have great sentiments just been very grateful for my experience and my brothers as well at Iowa,” said Stoops.
