No game today, but huge day for OSU?

From an intel standpoint, this -- Friday, Nov., 4, 2011 -- is a huge day in Oklahoma State’s quest to remain unbeaten and play for big stakes.

Why?

The 14-day weather forecast is available for Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, alias the date OSU will play a night game in Ames, Iowa.

OSU is, of course, flat-out better than Iowa State. But the OSU-ISU game was long ago deemed potentially scary because weather can be an equalizer.

Put Cowboys from hometowns like Houston on frozen tundra and something crazy could happen, just like it did in 1985, when OSU took an 8-1 record and a No. 7 national ranking to Ames and came back with a loss and frostbite.

I won’t keep you in suspense any longer about the weather prediction for Nov. 18. High temperature: 49 degrees. Low temperature: 33 degrees. Wind: 17 mph. Chance of rain: 21 percent.

Stay tuned to see if it changes.

Precipitation or not, any TV executives directly involved in scheduling of the game should have to stand on the sideline with players and coaches or watch from the stands with fans.
