The national media have finally tired of snickering at Oklahoma's suddenly-winless 2005 football season, and have returned to what they were doing before the NCAA verdict came down -- professing their man-crushes on freshman running back DeMarco Murray.
Brian Jones of CSTV says nice things about Allen Patrick and Chris Brown, then writes, "But the guy in the OU backfield that has everyone talking is redshirt freshman DeMarco Murray. Remember his name folks; he just might be OU's next Heisman Trophy winner."
FOXSports.com contributor Randy Hill reminds us that Murray hails from Las Vegas, "a city with a back-producing history that includes St. Louis Ram Steven Jackson."
Then there's someone known as "Gerd" on an Ohio State Web site, who came up with a really sweet "100 things to look forward to this college football season." No. 28? "Oklahoma redshirt freshman running back DeMarco Murray making the post-Adrian Peterson mourning period a short one. He will be a star."
