ORU Still Strong in Bracketology

Oral Roberts has dropped a spot or two in several NCAA Tournament predictions but the Golden Eagles are still comfortably in the tournament, according to the bracketologists.
ORU had risen to as high as an 11th-seed last week but this week the Golden Eagles are listed on the brackets as a No. 12 or No. 13 seed.
Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tulsa are not listed among tournament or tournament bubble teams on any of the predictions.
Some believe that as many as six Big 12 teams might get into the tournament. ESPN has Kansas and Missouri as No. 1 seeds. Baylor, Iowa State, Texas and Kansas State are likely in, too.
Memphis and Southern Miss are the only Conference USA listed and both would likely have tough draws - both have predicted seedings of eighth or lower. UCF is listed as one of the eight teams on the bubbe by Jerry Palm.
ORU is the only Summit League team listed so the brackets are expecting Oral Roberts to win its league tournament.
We’ve gotten to the point in the season where OU, OSU and TU do not have enough time left to change their status as an NCAA Tournament at-large team. All three will have to win their conference tournament or hope to land in the NIT.
Motivation could be important at Oklahoma, where the Sooners are coming off a loss to previously Big 12 winless cellar dweller Texas Tech.
Plus, the Cowboys are struggling to get to .500 to become eligible for the NIT.
Tulsa will also have to play well down the stretch to get some attention for an invitation to some March tournament.
In other words, the season is far from over as long as the four state teams continue to play hard and fight for March games.
