OSU Collapse Leaves ORU as Best Hope

The way Oklahoma State has folded at the end of the season leaves just Oral Roberts as a possible NCAA Tournament team from the state.
Sure, OU's women will make the tournament and should be a relatively high seed.
However, on the men's side, OSU's collapse has sent the Cowboys out of consideration for the NCAA Tournament and left OSU fans wondering about the future of the program in the post-Edddie Sutton era.
There's simply no excuse for the way OSU has played lately, especially at home.
It leaves Sean Sutton with a lot of questions and plenty to prove to OSU fans.
At the same time, it puts all of the pressure on his brother Scott, coach at Oral Roberts, to carry the state flag into the NCAAs.
Yet, the Golden Eagles haven't exactly been flying high themselves.
Oral Roberts is the team to beat in the Mid-Con Tournament opening next week in Tulsa. However, the Eagles are far from a sure bet.
Despite two super seniors, the Golden Eagles have also faded fast after some early promise (just like the Cowboys).
ORU beat Kansas but has not built upon that victory. The Eagles have stumbled a number of times, including thee Bracket Buster loss to Utah State at the Mabee Center.
So, for the first time in recent memory, there would appear little hope for the state teams past the opening round of the men's tournament.
And, that opening round may include just one Oklahoma team as a heavy underdog.
